This piece is the very first self portrait I had ever did. In school we were challenged to paint a Van Goh inspired portrait of ourselves. Since this time I have created many abstract self portraits and they are one of my favourite forms of expression now. However, when I look back on this piece it reminds me of how uncomfortable it was for me at that time to create such a vulnerable work of art. Which reminds me of how far I have come.
